New Kiddy Balms from Lively Living
Lively Living have recently added 2 new products to their range. They are widely know for selling diffusers and essential oils in Australia, but these new products use their esssential oils and blends in a balm format instead of just a mixture of oils. This allows the balms to be safely placed on to the skin for immediate use without the need to dilute them in a carrier oil like coconut oil.
Chesty Kiddy Balm from Lively Living
Think 'natural version of THAT vapour rub based on petroleum jelly. Menthol, Camphor and Eucalyptus Oil are the actives in the chemist version. The essential oils in the Lively Living version are similar, without the use of camphor.
The mainstream version uses a thick jelly style consistency petroleum based gel that sits on the skin and takes quite some time to absorb, which makes the active ingredients more effective. This can be achieved using only natural ingredients which is exactly what Lively Living have done. The use of beeswax and lanolin ensure that the Lively Living Balms don't sink straight in to the skin like a natural body lotion would, instead they sit on the skin forming a barrier like a zinc based natural sunscreen does.
The gentler actives in this chesty kiddy balm are lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, cedarwood, lemon and l-menthol crystals. The base even has some magnesium sulphate in it to assist the lavender in calming.
There are some great opening reviews on the manufacturers website about this newly released product about kids preferring it to what used to be in the bathroom cabinet.
Calm Kiddy Balm from Lively Living
Like the chesty balm before it, we're saying a big N.O. to mineral oils, turpentine, petroleum and artificial fragrances and colours and using the same safe and natural base that's using beeswax and lanolin to ensure the essential oils in the balm stay on the surface of the skin for longer and do their job.
The hero oils in this calm balm are lavender, ylang ylang, bergamot and sandalwood - giving the balm a balanced earthy floral aroma. Magnesium sulphate in the balm aids in producing calmness and can be supplemented with a pure magnesium oil if you find it necessary. We recommend the sensitive spray from Amazing Oils if you're going to supplement, and it can be diluted down with a body lotion if necessary.
Remember, magnesium oil can make the skin warm and tingly for those who are deficient, so start off small, on wet skin, and dilute and see how you go.
