Glass Lunch Boxes
The purity of a glass lunch box is second to none. Glass does not retain any odour and nothing reacts with it. Lunch boxes made from glass are heavier than other lunch boxes and care needs to be taken not to drop them, but those two negatives are easily pushed aside with the versatility of the material.
We stock two sets of glass food containers from Glasslock which can also be used as meal prep containers. There are multiple sized containers suitable for snacks, side dishes and lunches. The glass lunch boxes we sell from Glasslock are leakproof (with a bpa free lid) and the glass is made from borosilicate glass, so it’s oven safe. They are perfect for prepping a week's lunches or meals in advance, storing them in the fridge or freezer and then reheating either in the oven (lid off) or the microwave.
As well as our oven safe leakproof containers, we stock a range of glass food jars from Kilner. Ranging in sizes from 350ml to 500ml, the are glass jars that come with accessories. Some are a simple jar with their own cutlery. Others have a stainless steel leakproof pot inside. They’re perfect for a mini salad with the dressing separate until lunch or for making overnight oats and doing a grab n go and eating on the run.
What makes a glass lunch box better for taking to work?
A glass lunch box is better than both a plastic lunch box and a stainless steel lunch box if you want to reheat your lunch. If you’re putting food in it that will stain, especially if you’re reheating, plastic lunch boxes can retain colour, stain and also retail smells. While you can put them in the microwave, you won’t get great results. A glass lunch box won’t do that.
A stainless steel lunch box cannot go in the microwave. Technically they can go in the oven, but it’s dangerous. They are extremely hot to handle when they come out, they can burn your food and you’ll void your warranty if they warp, then you’ll never get the lid back on. If you’re reheating lunch at work, whether it’s in the microwave or a small oven, our glass lunch boxes are the best solution.
