You can see the product but what about the packaging? Brands are innovating all the time and swapping out plastic for bio plastics that are compostable. The bamboo toothbrush from Grants is a great example for what this category represents. While handles on bamboo toothbrushes are plastic free, the bristles are usually still nylon. Grants managed to get a workable bristle using 62% castor bean oil and 38% plastic, but they didn’t stop there. They still needed their packaging to have a hygiene seal, so they swapped out a plastic inner with compostable bioplastic. Their product is ‘almost’ plastic free, but they ensured the packaging was.
