Beauty and the Bees are the original Australian brand who made shampoo bars, way back in 1993. They had been a part of our store for around a decade and made a brief disappearance during a rebrand. They’re back in store now along with their new pH balanced shampoo bars which behave more like a liquid shampoo on the hair than the original formulation. The originals are still available and were always popular.

Where are Beauty and the Bees located?

Beauty and the Bees are a Tasmanian brand and use raw, rare and real natural ingredients. They are known for using Leatherwood Honey and Beeswax found only in the ancient rainforests on Tasmania’s wild west coast.

Over a third of the island of Tasmania is either National Park or Wilderness World Heritage Area. This island is the source of many special ingredients you won't find in other brands and many of their herbs, Kunzea, goats milk, hops, beer, salt, seeweed, olive oil, beeswax, leatherwood honey and apple cider vinegar are sourced directly from the island.

There are two different kinds of bars in the range, the originals and the newer pH range that behave more like a traditional shampoo. What's so special about Leatherwood Honey & Beeswax?

These two ingredients form the foundation of the majority of the Beauty and the Bees range. From soap to shampoo and conditioner bars, their beauty products and moisture creams, they're in virtually everything. These ingredients protect, soften and soothe like no other. The trees can take up to 70 years to produce their first blossoms and live for centuries and the Leatherwood honey and beeswax found in these products are sourced from ancient trees in some of the most isolated areas in Tasmania.

The Tasmanian government works with beekeeping and timber associations to ensure the preservation of the area.

Beauty and the Bees are pioneers in plastic free packaging

They did it first and to this stay are 99% plastic free packaging. They do sell some beauty products packed in glass with plastic lids. Their products are packed in cardboard boxes, metal tins or glass jars. When they ship orders out, biodegradable cellophane or kraft paper bags are used and any spoons or spatulas are made from corn starch. We are always happy to receive their deliveries because we know what trouble they go to avoiding unnecessary waste.
