Weleda has been around since 1921. While many popular products have survived the test of time, they are still innovating and bringing out new products, some of which I tried today. We've had a couple of their products in our store for a couple of years now, but today, I had the pleasure of meeting the Managing Director and Sales Manager who spent 2 hours showing me the range and explaining the origins of the company and the ethics that go in to sourcing the raw ingredients for the whole range. I was impressed.

Over the coming weeks, we're going to be adding more of the Weleda products to our range, and explaining in some detail how the ingredients are sourced and what their natural healing properties are. For now, I'm going to just give you a couple of wide brush strokes so you know what's coming. If you're a fan of Weleda already, please contact us and let us know which products you use so we can make sure we add them to our range.

One of the products that's exciting me the most is something that may be a little obscure for some, but once I explain myself, you'll change your mind.

The White Mallow Baby Care products are new to the Weleda range. While they're designed and marketed for babies, what they really are is the ultimate products for adults with sensitive skin and a sensitive nose. There are three products in the range, a body lotion, a nappy change cream and a face cream. At first I thought it was a little odd to have a face cream for a baby, but it's for those times where your little one may have a dry patch or a rash or some troubled skin that needs soothing. And I'm so grateful because what I really want it in the store for is ME!!!

So often I look for organic skin care products that are suitable for sensitive skin and sensitive noses and I come up empty handed. The White Mallow products are made from organic ingredients and 100% natural. They are also accepted by the National Eczema Association and we know they're going to be popular. I tried both the face cream and the body lotion today. My legs have been horribly dry of late. While I rub coconut oil in to them a couple of times a week, when you're sitting around in artificial heating for hours on end in the depth of winter, sometimes it's just not enough. I specifically only put the body lotion on one of my legs and left the other one alone with yesterday's coconut oil. There is a significant difference in how my White Mallow leg feels 8 hours after I applied the lotion. I will be giving the face lotion a try over coming days before I also brave one of the regular skin care ranges for myself. Despite the inclusion of essential oils in most of the products, I was able to tolerate the majority of them well. The scents of the products are incredibly well balanced and gentle and do settle in to the skin quickly without being overbearing. We're going to be selecting a few products to give out free samples for over coming weeks so as many of our customers as possible can experience this for themselves. Stay tuned.
