Schmidt's are bringing out a new natural deodorant in their stick range with charcoal & magnesium. We will have it in store early July when it launches in Australia. As soon as I saw it, I got excited that we would have a new deodorant in the range that was powered by magnesium instead of bi-carb. This new Schmidt's deodorant still has bi-carb in it, so while this means our magnesium deodorant range remains as is, we will now have a deodorant powered by BOTH ingredients. We are expecting amazing things from this one. Watch this space.

It still made us stop and think about those customers who have sensitive skin reactions to the deodorants with bi-carb in them, so today I grabbed them all from the shelf and wanted to showcase them together to help you make your pick. We have options from Erica Brooke, Schmidt's and also magnesium oil can be used as a natural deodorant, so we've picked the roll-on from Amazing Oils which is easy to apply to the pits.

Erica Brooke Bi-Carb Free Gentle Deodorant Crème

This my favourite, and it's the newest one in our store. Erica teams up magnesium with diatomaceous earth (aka Fossil Shell Flour - aka the Heal Your Gut Powder) for its odour control. A beautiful blend of subtle essential oils keeps with the gentle theme, using Lemon Myrtle, Petitgrain and Frankincense. Together they create a fresh yet warm gentle aroma to help keep odour under control. This paste is a little firmer than Erica's other pastes, so just gently scrape what you need with your thumbnail and it soon melts to the touch.

Schmidt's Natural Deodorant Sticks

There are three varieties in the magnesium powered sticks by Schmidt's, fragrance free, geranium and tea tree. These sticks use magnesium hydroxide for their odour fighting capabilities, which is used in antacids like milk of magnesia.

Amazing Oils Magnesium Roll-On Gel

This is one of our multi-tasking products. Essentially, these magnesium sprays and gels are formulated to allow for magnesium to be absorbed in to the body through the skin. If you are deficient in magnesium, they will make the skin warm and tingly. They are a very effective natural deodorant, but if you haven't used any type of magnesium oil on the body, I would suggest you pop a little bit on your arm or leg or torso each day for a few days to allow your magnesium levels to rise up a little. It will save you any discomfort you may experience.

In my own personal use, I had to use a 20% dilution magnesium cream for a week or two, and then boost it with a magnesium spray for a few days before I could tolerate the full strength. Everyone is different, but we like to err on the side of caution.
