Introducing Gevity RX Marinades
My first introduction to the Gevity RX range was its very original incarnation as a brand called Meadow & Marrow who I met the year they launched at the Naturally Good Expo in 2017. They started with just 3 products, the Natural, Lemon & Herb and Curry, all of which are still in the range today. The next group of products to hit the range were AM Cleanse, Populate, Burn and Boost. These were all based on the Natural bone broth with extra ingredients for performance, not just taste like the Lemon & Herb and Curry were.
AM Cleanse was formulated to drink like a tea in the morning with alkalising and immune boosting ingredients, lemon, ginger, apple cider vinegar and turmeric. Burn includes fat burning foods like MCT oil, matcha, olive leaf, cinnamon, cayenne and ginseng. It has a bit of a flavour kick. Populate is rich in digestive enzymes and good bacterial and Boost uses nitrate rich beetroot and MCT oil to boost a workout or exercise.
The next step forward in the Meadow & Marrow range was their bone broth sauces. Based on the Natural broth, but with the consistency of mayo, there's a plain mayo called Great Guts, a turmeric mayo called Total Tummy, a smokey BBQ mayo called Better Belly and a spicy mayo called Souped-Up Sriracha.
After this, a name change for the brand came in to effect and Gevity RX was born and the product expansion and innovation continues. They were the first brand in Australia to create a concentrated bone broth. Up until that point we only had access to dehydrated powders, and while they were popular in the beginning, customers were not always happy with the flavour of powders or the granules left behind that just would not dissolve.
In the same vein as the performance range, a collaboration with Fire Tonic sees the Natural broth blended with Fire Tonic which is formulated for immune health. Combined with the gut healing benefits of the broth, it's a 1 2 punch of goodness.
Now that we're up to date with the progression of the product releases, the bone broth, which is called Body Glue by Gevity RX is now using their original product as a base for 3 new marinade sauce flavours. In the supermarket, you will traditionally find sugar, preservatives and industrial seed oils in marindes. Not so with the Gevity RX range. Like everything else they create, there's no industrial seed oils. Extra Virgin Olive Oil, (sometimes called EVOO) is used. There's no refined sugars either. You will find ingredients like monkfruit or chicory root fibre sweetening the sauces and there's no wheat either.
When marinading, you use it like anything you buy at the supermarket, baste your meat or veg for a minimum of 20 minutes to overnight and cook to taste. 2 tablespoons of marinade = 1 daily serving of Body Glue and a jar is usually enough for up to 4 meals. The range is Paleo and Keto friendly. Choose from the peri-peri kick of the Pimpin Portugese, the Smokey Texan for ribs and wings or the soy free Asian favourite Terrific Teriyaki.
