Lots of cafes, pubs and retail stores are now phasing out single use plastic straws which we are so happy about and although some people do need the plastic straws for medical reasons, what we want to see is those who don't need them, choosing to refuse. Below we will give you a breakdown on what we currently have available for reusable straws in our store.

At the moment reusable straws come in three options - stainless steel, glass, or bamboo. There are positives and negatives to each according to each person's requirements. Glass of course can break if you drop them, some people can taste the metal in the stainless steel straws or are worried about kids chipping their teeth on them, and others may have an aversion to the feel of bamboo in their mouth.

The Best Stainless Steel straws

Ever Eco have the most variety in their range for this option with silver or rose gold coloured, straight or bent option, and a single straw with carry bag and cleaner option as well as packs of 2 or 4, and bulk countertop packs of 25 which are a great option if you are catering or having parties.

Rechusable have straws available in a single pack which is great if you want to try them out, and Kleen Kanteen have 4 pack of stainless steel straws with silicone tips which are the perfect hack for those with kids and worried about them bumping their teeth on the metal straws.

The Best Glass Straws

The glass straws from Raw Blend that we carry in our store are larger in diameter and designed for use with smoothies and thicker drinks. Made from tougher borosilicate glass (like Pyrex) they can withstand the heat of a dishwasher and are 4-6 times stronger than standard tempered glass.

The Best Bamboo Straws

Bamboo straws are available in a 2, 4 or 8 pack with a cleaning brush and a bag to store them in when not in use.

These straws are made by hand in Bali from 100% bamboo - the bamboo is simply cut to length and the edges are smoothed. Each straw is unique due to this handmade nature and they are 100% compostable when they are at the end of their life.
