Hurraw Lip Balm have had a cult following for the majority of the time our store has been in existence, which is 2009. This vegan range of lip balm come in an array of delicious flavours with tinted options available and even an SPF version to protect your lips out in the sun. Most of the flavours are based on food and fruits but we don’t stock the complete range. If there’s a Hurraw flavour you just can’t live without, please drop us a line so we can consider adding it to our range.

Hurraw is packaged in an oval shaped plastic tube that winds up and down. They sit flat in your pocket and are easy to carry around without being damaged. While we love our cardboard packaged lip balm brands, they’re not practical to throw in your pocket like these are. The plastic container can be recycled.

Which Hurraw Lip Balms are tinted?

There are two different lip balm options in Hurraw, the original organic lip balm and the Plant Color range. In the original class lip balms we stock the Black Cherry which is a deep red sheer tint. It was the first, and for quite some time, the only tinted lip balm in the Hurraw range. The Raspberry tint was added to the range which is tinted with purple carrot and gives a sheer pink shade. These original balms are a very pale 'hint' of colour and are suitable for use on kids and adults alike as they're made with only natural, vegan and organic ingredients.

For a heavier colour that sits between a tinted lip balm and a lipstick, the Plan Colour series use beets, radish and purple potatoes for their tint. They give you more colour but still a natural look with the lip care function of a balm but the look of something with some more depth.

The ethics of Hurraw lip balm

Hurraw lip balm has been a natural and ethical company since they started in 2010. They are cruelty free, vegan, EcoCert certified Cosmos Natural and GMO free. They are also a part of the PETA Cruelty Free Company program. Their lip balms are also marked as bee free (which falls under the vegan banner), soy free and palm oil free. For those with gluten intolerances, the range is also gluten free. Approx 70% of ingredients in most of the range is certified organic, and you will find them joined by premium raw & natural ingredients only.

While some of the natural butters, seed oil and other ingredients sourced by Hurraw would normally fall under the fair trade banner, they understand that fair trade certification is expensive and not always affordable for their suppliers. Hurraw chose to work directly with farmers and distributors with NGO's to get fair prices for their farmers and an affordable price for their products. They are not Fair Trade certified but they show great care in choosing who they work with.
