In the last decade, formulators of natural deodorant discovered the power in bi-carb soda as an effective odour reduction ingredient, and natural deodorant paste was born. In Australia, the pioneers were Black Chicken Remedies with their Axilla Paste. In the USA it was Schmidts.

It was soon discovered that bi-carb soda can be a skin irritant to some so brands got on board to also create bi-carb free deodorant paste and pit detox products to calm down irritated skin.

Traditionally deodorant paste comes packed in a tin or a jar, but formulators are now using a very similar formula to create a truly plastic free and biodegradable deodorant in a cardboard tube.
