Kids Water Bottles

There's a few factors in choosing kids drink bottles to work out what's right for your child. The main choices are the size of the bottle, what it's made from, whether it's an insulated water bottle to keep your drink ice cold or not, and the type of cap or lid available for the bottle. Depending on the age of your child, you may want to regulate water flow, and this changes over time. You don't want to have to keep replacing bottles, so if you can just replace caps, you will get much better value for money out of the water bottle you choose for your child when you can buy spare parts, so we tend to favour brands that have spares.

Kids water bottle lid choices

The most common lid choice for a kids water bottle is a straw lid. Even with this choice, in this category, we have three very distinct options. The main benefit of a straw lid on a bottle for kids is that they don't have to tip the bottle up and their neck back to drink. This is more important for little ones, but it can be an important feature for older kids too.

Option 1 is the straw lid on the Oasis kids bottles with the cute designs painted on them. The lid is easy to open with a push button and the part of the straw the kids drink from is silicone, so it's soft on their teeth. Option 2 is the straw lid on the plain colour Oasis bottles. Available in some fun bright colours, the straw component that goes in the mouth is solid plastic, so it's suitable for older kids and not so much for toddlers. Option 3 is the Camelbak Eddy+ bottle with the silicone bite valve. Children need to bite and suck at the same time and they're advertised as being suitable for children ages 3 and over. Their kids water bottles are made from bpa free plastic.

Oasis have a screw cap option in the plain colour 500ml bottles and the screw cap is attached to the bottle so they can't lose it. These screw caps are durable and a great choice for any one whose kids really like to unleash their adventurous side on their drink bottles! The screw caps are also the best leak proof options as some straw lids may leak a few drops here and there. Klean Kanteen bottles are available with a sippy cap for toddlers and a sports cap for older kids.

Insulated kids water bottles

One of the features parents often look for in a water bottle for school is insulation. Australian summers can get hot and a lot of kids don't like drinking water unless it's cold. The best way to keep them hydrated is with an insulated water bottle. All the Oasis water bottles are double wall stainless steel insulated and the best value for money. In sizes from 400ml to 550ml, they're enough for your kids to stay hydrated with 1 or 2 refills during the day. By filling the bottle with ice in the morning, it will keep your original water and even the refills nice and cold.

What are kids water bottles made from?

There are three main materials used to make drink bottles in our store, stainless steel, bpa free plastic and glass. Only two of these options are suitable for drink bottles for kids - the stainless steel and the bpa free plastic. Depending on the age range and how the bottle is going to be used will depend on which material is best. For a little one, choosing lightweight bpa free plastic could be your best option, but we sell a lot more stainless steel water bottles. Stainless steel can be dented if it's treated poorly and because of the paint job, they are not dishwasher safe because the paint will peel off over time. They are pretty tough though.

We step away from black and raw stainless steel and enter fun design with unicorns, rainbows, space, ladybugs and lots more.
