A frequent request we get from customers is whether the Funtainer style water bottle from Thermos comes in a larger size than the 355ml with the kiddie designs or whether the 530ml versions come in anything suitable for a boy. Up until now, the answer has always been no. We are pleased to announce that Thermos Australia are now importing the 470ml size funtainer in a plain charcoal and plain purple (pictured above).

This plain colour bottle design is suitable for kids, teens or adults. The lid design is functionally the same as the 355ml kids funtainer and the larger female 530ml bottles but has had a slight redesign, so the replacement silicone mouthpieces we have in stock for the 355ml bottles will not fit the new 470ml size, nor will the inner straws, as they are too short. Like all our bottles with inner straws, we are looking at the possibility of finding either stainless steel or glass straws that will fit inside them. (We have sourced glass straws for the Camelbak Eddy glass bottles that are in transit with our supplier).

Taking a look under the lid of the new size funtainer is virtually identical to the smaller size, so we will demonstrate with that photo (below). You simply push the button on the lid and the lid pops open (one handed operation) to reveal a soft silicon spout that is easily removed for cleaning. When you close the lid, the silicone spout is pinched down by the lid and the bottle is leakproof for transport. Do be careful with the lid, children who are rough with water bottles and lunch boxes may break them more often than you'd like. Spare parts are available to purchase directly from Thermos Australia if you need a lid or extra straws.
