We have a wide selection of insulated food jar choices in store, not only from this brand, but from others like Lunchbots and Klean Kanteen too. Every food jar in store has stainless steel on the inside and the outside with vacuum insulation in between, except for one model, the Thermos Insulated Snak Jar.

Today we're going to give you a run down on this lightweight, durable and budget friendly insulated food jar and how it differs from the stainless steel models. This information will help you decide which option is best suited to your needs.

Thermos Insulated Snak Jar basic specs

  1. Capacity
235ml - It's enough for a tub of yoghurt or a snack for a baby or a toddler or for storing a portion of your childs lunch for school.
  2. Materials
It's made from bpa free plastic, inside and out
  3. Insulation
There is no time period rating. They are foam insulated only and not ideal for storing hot food for any length of time. We also advise that any cold food that's travelling for longer than an hour be put inside a lunch bag with ice packs for added insulation. We don't recommend the use of plastics and hot food, but you can keep hot food warm for short periods of time. For extended insulation, you need a stainless steel food jar.
  4. Size
    They're 10cm in diameter and 11cm high
  5. Compartments
There are two. The main compartment is insulated. There is also a small compartment in the lid that stores a foldaway spoon and has enough room to store condiments. (see below)
  6. Is it leakproof?
Yes. When the lid is screwed on for transport, it's leakproof.
  7. Price
At the time of writing this post, they are $7.99 each. When compared to the average price of $25 to $30, they're a great budget friendly alternative when you're only carrying food for a short period of time.
